CS918 RK3188T (Q7) - newbie needs help

    CS918 RK3188T (Q7) - newbie needs help

    Hello guys

    Recently I bought CS918 RK3188T (Q7) Android 4.4.2. This is my first experience with the technology.
    Could You please advice me - whether it safe to install K-R42 wasser firmware 1.0.4 to this device?

    I've noticed in XBMC that my resolution is set to 1280x760 (and can not be changed), even though in Android settings it shows 1080p. I think that firmware is probably 720p upscaled to 1080p.
    Do You think it will help if I flash mentioned firmware to my device?

    Also could You please help me to determine which revision am I using (old/new). I guess probably -new- because device was bought just recently via ****. On the sticker it says Q7.

    You can flash any firmware but you are going to loose wifi and bt.
    The only ROM with true 1080p support and working wifi/bt is the one I made.

      The only way to determine which version you have is to open the device (4 screws under the rubber feet) and have a look at the printed information at the pcb to avoid flashing a wrong rom which maybe brick your device...

        no_spm_for_me - sorry for what seems to be a silly question but - where can I find download page of your firmware?
        I couldn't find any sticky post wth the info.

        All in all jail-broken Amazon FireTV seems to be a lot better choice for purchase than this model.

          There doesn't exist a fw from no_spam_for_me
          You have to know which pcb is the one at your device and with this information you maybe find a custom fw...
          And yes, the aftv (Amazon Fire TV) with the right fw (< 51.1.3.0) and blocking the update domain is the better choice
          (BTW: the German and I think also the English version comes with preinstalled 51.1.3.0 but the American version you can find at **** should use older fw...)

              You need to run 'su' then 'dmesg' in terminal app and post output, must be rooted, to make sure you have RTL8188 wifi. Also post firmware version from about device.

                Hello

                Guys, I have XT-Q7V-V10 (2014-08-15).
                I'm also looking for cheap skype camera - do You think that C170 would be best choice?
                Can you please help me with this:
                every time device came up from sleep mode, WFi doesn't work. It's says it is connected but no dats is downloaded in any app. When device is rebooted it is always fine. I'm wondering could it be well known bug in this original soft. I've tried to change multiple WiFi settings but its no difference. It is not big deal to reboot device all the time.
