    Upgrade from rk3188 to rk3288

Hello friends. I have some questions regarding changing my current box (k-r42) with most probably Beelink r89. Will i get significant improvement? Just to clarify. I had previous box mk808 (allways pick them according to support on this forum), and difference was HUGE I was satisfied how mk808 worked, only bothered me that i can not watch movie with mx player and download torrent in same time. Movie freezed a lot. K-r42 is excellent, i have10 torrents on seed, samba server, xbmc, streaming, mx player work great (all that with wasser kitkat rom). Now question is. Will i see same jump in performance with rk3288, like in previous situation? If that device is much faster then current one i will sell this one and replace it with beelink, or should i wait some more time with replacing it? Thanks in advance for your answers!

Ok, from specification that is increased performance by 30%. That is not too big difference to change box now, maybe i should wait one more year.

Ok, now i have to change, because i have sold my rk3188 box so, the candidates are: Beelink r89 or Tronsmart (orion, meta) Which one should i go for? Maybe Beelink?

Or, you could wait a few days for these to be available. They look like they will be the top performer.

Hm, then i must wait couple of months more to read reviews and see support for this devices. I would like to buy something untill Christmas (will wait for christmas discounts). I think rk3288 can only be better than rk3188, and box with rk3188 was excellent for me. I will only wait for first price drop. I have bought this rk3188 box for 85 USD, and sold it year later for the same price. I did same thing year before with mk808.

If you are going to wait I would recommend waiting until Android 5.0 is factory installed on these boxes. Android "Lollipop" will finally have an interface designed for TV. This Youtube video from last June Google IO conference is the only information I can find showing off some of the settings and preferences (approx. 2 minutes in) of the new "Leanback Launcher" on the new Nexus TV box.

i think there will be plenty of android 5 based custom roms for supported devices. For my player Kingnovel K-R42 KitKat rom was never released by factory, but forum user WASSER compiled great kitkat rom for it.
