Square M8 Bricked ? Red Light

Hi All,

Got a Square OTT M8 box and tried flashing a new rom, all went fine went into recovery and updated but after reboot, the blue light on the front is now solid red, no logo comes up.

I have tried to use the sdcard and reboot back into recovery, but no joy just a red light and still no logo.

it doesnt respond to the remote or anything.

Am i bricked ?

M8 squre and Red LED? There is no Red LED as far as I know

Never had an Original V0.92 or V1 pcb box got Red LED installed ...

M8 never released an IMG format ROM because there is no OTG port!

That's not 7&8. Pin 1 is the dot on the upper left not lower left.

Shorting those 7&8 pins didn't do anything... shorting the other one's got me to recovery. Confused

On AML the NAND chips they use is pins 17&18 but your lucky that if you count up from bottom left 7&8 is 17&18! But this wont be true on all boards depending on nand chip.

i have csm8 and i try to put minix rom they have some code or something like that i only see minix logo and i stuck with logo i want to ask something if i port your 1.0minix rom for x8 may i install 9,2beta from minix?i just want to try

i waited a month to get it from china !!!!

2. Probox 2 firmware runs on the square M8 (rather well), and comes in .img format. Flash with the AML burning tool once you have hard-wired OTG.
