Which rom and question on advanced settings. Xml

Have M8,will be installing Omans xbmc.

1) Which rom is the best out of:
Finless 1.7
Finless 1.8
Justme

I will be looking to install one of these.


2) is the advanced settings. Xml necessary for stutter free playback? is it recommended? Is it worth doing?

All the Roms you mention are good. I personally did use finless 1.7 but am now in justme android on one of my m8s and justme openelec on the other.
Advanced settings to control the buffer amounts are often hailed as being the solution to slow downloads. This isn't the case. If your connection to the host server is slow then no setting in advances setting will cure this, unless you start a movie pause it for hours and then play. Not really ideal.
I personally don't change the setting. The stock 20 odd MB buffer should be sufficient.

I find with just me openelec there is no need to change buffer in advanced xml. Unless it has already been changed. I can usually figure out if a source is gonna buffer fast, if it opens up quite quickly I just pause for a few mins and see if it starts to buffer if not I try another source. Sometimes it just fly's up.
