Can anyone with knowledge on the subject comment on the openness of All winner vs Rockchip? I feel like I remember Bob saying allwinner was much easier to work with in the past ROMs and the like bc they had better support etc....

Big cpu but only ha e 720p kernel. Density 160dpi.(antutu score may be for 720p 54000)
Where is video format playback test. Can be play Avc/mpeg4-part10 and mpeg2 hw decode with xbmc. That one of the buy cheap box.
Wrote some paper 1080p/120fps that is real.
If it support open source vpu driver and gpu driver. this device can be one of device for Htpc.
But vpu driver in sdk include binary. No source

amlogic 802/805/812 based tvbox cooking egg with cpu may be good choice for tvbox. indeed just not importan cpu frequency or core. importan issue for me that any xbmc has deinterlace method for android vpu/gpu. may be direcx9,3 and google render script work kitkat lolipop 5.0.

Doesn't ship till the 25th... bummer. Hopefully BOB can give us his assessment of this box before x-mas. I love my Minix x7 but i'm always ready for an Update!

The device looks interesting but I will wait until Zero devices releases Alice. I anticipate that Alice will be similar in terms of the features.

I wish this product had HDMI 2.0 and Internal SSD drive option.

ordered the meta version 2gb/16gb. Suppose to be shipping out within the next day or so. What do you mean by Internal SSD drive option? With sata can't i hook up any internal sata drive?

Received the Tronsmart Octa Core

I received my Octa Core today. First impression is the device is the best out of box tv box I have ever received. All my streaming apps work fine and so far Kodi and spmc streaming with no problems. Only had it setup for 3 hours. Going to explore more tonight.

Also, maybe you could include the devices that you have, in your "signature" so we can get an idea of what you are comparing it to.
