Beelink R89 now ordered via Geekbuying. :)

The clunky interface on the Raspberry Pi running OpenElec\XBMC has finally driven me to replace it with something that has more performance, after a couple of days of reading I have finally decided on the Beelink R89 but I am undecided on where to purchase it from, Amazon.co.uk have a couple here & here but I am wary of them not being genuine products (shipping from China) and they are not the v3 PCBs, so the question is has anyone purchased from these sellers or for peace of of mind should I be ordering from geekbuying?

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks.

It will be difficult to buy one from a UK stockist without paying a lot more for it.

Even the ones from Amazon come from China but at least you will have buyer protection, even though paying a higher price.

I have ordered from Geekbuying and had no issues, although, as with any supplier, people may have differing experiences.

Hi & Thanks for the advise.

I think for the peace of mind I will give Geekbuying a go as I have only heard good things about them, but this brings in another question, should I be considering the Tronsmart Orion meta as there is only a couple of quid in it.. aaaah why does there have to be some many manufacturers using the RK3288!!!

Therein lies the great thing about multiple choice and the problem of what to choose.

I have the Meta and am very happy with it.

Others will of course say that their Beelink, Nagrace, Ugoos ...... boxes are for them and many are so similar, the choice can come down to price, support, design etc

I think every device using the netxeon pcb (Beelink, UBOX and Tronsmart) are a good choice but I prefer the Beelink / UBOX because of the housing (because I think because of better heat handling) ...

Going by the activity of the Beelink forum (mostly good) I think I may give the Beelink R89 a pop! but your right, it is a tough choice but I am sure if I run into problems I will find the answer here

            Thanks.

Yes thats right, the funky wedge shape of the Beelink must aid heat dissipation.

Just ordered a Beelink R89 from Geekbuying earlier, went for the quicker DHL shipping so looking forward to taking receipt early next week. I must say at this stage it has been great dealing with Geekbuying via there chat tool, always answered all my questions promptly. Now I cant wait to get my hands on this little power house!
