    MK808B Mediatek MT5931SA, MT2266N. Custom rom/root request.

    Hello Folks,

I have recently purchased a MK808B with the Mediatek wifi and bluetooth.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I have located the stock rom here:

I am happy with the rom as bluetooth and wifi work however I would like to have a rooted version. Every custom rom I have tried has resulted in 'no signal'. Has anyone else found a way to root this device without flashing a new rom? Or a custom rom that works?

    Thanks in Advance

            Try this

Let me know what works...did everything on the pc...let me know what works and what doesn't.

update all your apps before giving feedback.

Thanks for the effort prahjister your rom seems to work great. Unfortunately root access still isn't available.

Kingoroot didn't work. I am about to try TPSparkyroot. I'll keep you posted.

I watched HD video files without any glitching, quite smooth. I can't comment on SPMC as my wifi signal is to weak to bother trying to stream.

The main reason I would like to root is to be able to install an external wifi adapter.

I would imagine you dont need root to use an external wifi adapter as long as the driver is in the kernel.

                        Hi Johnoo,

Do you think you could find the time to post a link to your rooted image? I am not having any luck with TPSparkyRoot.

                        Thanks in advance.

                              Js

That stock rom linked in the first post is Kitkat.

Did not realise there was a working KitKat for this Mk808b.
                              works very well.

Just flashed and rooted it with KingoROOT.

                              setup for root ...

                              in settings, `USB` enable `Connect to PC`
                              and enable `USB debugging`.

If still does not work I`ll upload rooted version.
