What to try if touch screen quits working

Some of us here flash quite frequently and discover unique problems, which require hard work, and some heavy sweating to resolve.

While experimenting with a ROM not from this site I completely lost use of the touch screen. A pretty big deal. Every version of past ROMs I tried reverting back to didn't fix the problem.

I remembered that the debloat of the original ROM removed the setting for screen calibration, because it caused a bug.

    Here is the fix:

Download the original firmware for the 10bG3 from this site. It is located under ROM's by Finless.

    Flash that firmware.

Power down your tab and replace the USB computer cable with a USB mouse. (you will need an adapter for that to convert to micro USB)

Go through the initial setup wizard. The first thing is the screen calibration wizard. Just let that go once and click ok. It doesn't do anything.

Next, after get to the home screen, run the settings app. Scroll down and locate the screen calibration setting and run that one.

Once that runs, your touch screen should work.

I hope you never have this problem, but if you do...try it...it bailed me out.

It doesn`t work on my 10b G3 DT... i bought 3 different micro usb adapters and even tried a powered USB hub with at least 6 different mouses, optical wired, optical remote and old plain wired ball mouse.
Nothing happend, no mouse pointer at all.Are you sure that the micro USB port on the 10B G3
    is USB Host capable?
I`m still stuck with that aweful calibration routine, so i`m waiting for a custom rom for the Dual touch resistive 10B G3 that will make my tablet usable again. ..... that would really make my day

I'm not sure if this will work for the resistive screen, I only have the capacitive. Your mouse should work through the micro USB port.

What I actually have is a laptop style keyboard with a touchpad on it that is USB. When attached to any of my android tablets it turns them into android laptops.

The adapter I use came directly from Archos, which I bought with my 70it. I now have a second one that came with my yuandao n101. Both work fine.

I never have been able to use a USB hub with any tablet, so that route will defiantly not work.

Yes, I just saw that myself and thought about telling you about it.

Just adding here to the solution.

I had the same thing happen again.

Make sure you go all the way back to the original firmware that came with your tablet. Anything else won't do the recalibration.
