External Keyboard issue with both Stock Rom 14-10-25 and bob finless 1.1

Hello guys,

I have just flashed back to stock and can confirm the bug where hardware keyboards like the Logitech K400r stop working as a keyboard after a while is PRESENT in the stock firmware... so this was definitely not an issue that started with custom ROMs.

I have not had time to test to see if the other bug, with the system unable to restore from standby mode, is still present.

So far there does not seem to be any vertical smear on the bottom of video playback in Kodi.

I just go to Language & input, Default, and switch it back on.
All Roms I have tested do this

Nope, sadly it's unrelated.

Whether hardware keyboard is selected in settings or not makes no difference at all,
Whether the USB dongle is on the device or on an extension cable also makes no difference, so it isn't interference from the box.

There is one way to get it working again and that is to reboot.

This is a particularly annoying bug, thank god for Google tv remote app which always works.

One of the vestiges from my Minix trials is their A2 Air mouse, which works fairly well with the Draco but not great!

Can you guys recommend your favorite air mouse for this wonderful player *(made even better by Bob's Finless ROM!).

I own several air mouses, and each one had key not working, I use keytest.apk and map the key manualy in system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl

default IR remote problem

Hi all, anyone have any problem with the default IR remote?

FYI, I am still running stock rom and i just found out recently (after about 3 weeks usage), the default IR remote is not really usable anymore. So far i can only use it to power on the box, which subsequently all keys and functions of the remote doesn't do anything anymore, including the power button key (to put to sleep or even power off). I can see the box front light have certain blinks when i press on the remote's button but it just doesn't do anything.

At first i thought the IR receiver is spoilt, but shouldn't that mean i can't even use it to power on the box? or unless powering on the box doesn't use IR?

I also tried to check the sunxi-ir.kl file and did not found the file to be corrupted. Something wrong with my root so i cant overwrite it with the one i downloaded from this forum nor edit it, but i've already checked line by line and notice the key layout codes are exactly the same.

So anyone else encountered this? is there any reason and most importantly is there any fix or solutions?
i am probably gonna try to install finless rom next to see if it fix the problem or not, but before i do that, would like to know if there are any other methods i can try.

Hopefully its only a software issue and not a hardware one so i need not send it back all the way to china for RMA. thanks.

You may have checked
Has It been dropped, something could have come adrift.
Batteries may be suss.

Definitely batteries are the first thing that I've checked. I've also tested it with another air mouse and similarly the IR functions not working but when I connect the same air mouse to my smart tv it does work. Thus I'm suspecting something is wrong from the box end and not the remote.

You can try to use Boot from SD using the stock rom and see what will happen... if you have the same issue, you are sure it's a hw-issue...

well, i've tested both with stock and finless rom via SD card bootup method, and it seems to be a software issue rather than a hardware one. but i wonder what caused it? hmmm...anyway, thx for the solution, at least now i know i dont need to send it back to china!!

does somebody know a case that i could use for this?
furthermore, with performance in mind, which sd card would you recommend for booting from sd?

Faster through the usb 3.0 (blue) port than the sata port in my case
