M8 is a piece of junk, recommend me a reliable box instead ,please.

As per title, my box is unusable so I am looking to replace it with something else, can anyone suggest a good reliable replacement?

I don't know what your problems are, but have you also looked at the openELEC port by codesnake? http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...TV110-MX2-G18)

If you look for another S802 device I would take a MXIII 2GB...

If you can also live with an RockChip then I would take one of the netxeon RK3288 devices (but at the moment some problems with path-through which I think they will be able to fix)...

The problem is that I tried to update to JustMe 1.3 and now my box will power on then nothing else. I cannot reset nor access recovery, I have tried for a week. that's why I want/need to replace it.

I'm don't really know this M8 and also not the recovery but if I remember correctly you can boot with recovery.img and the *.aml at SD using e.g. at some rom updates... maybe without the rom which should flashed with the recovery and aml you are able to boot to the recovery at minimum...

Who says M8 or M8N is unusable..just put codesnake's openelec then it will save this box, if u want android finless 1.8..with some issues but not rezlly bad..it is still a good box ..for me, my opinion.thanks

Can you advise me how to install anything when the box will not boot into recovery, please?

Have you tried

1) placing 'recovery.img' from any Finless rom on a (formatted) SD card; 2) powering up using the toothpick reset and with the card inserted?

Possibly your installed stock recovery has been corrupted. Try booting recovery off the card instead.

Sounds bad ... maybe you killed the bootloader (I think so) and I don't know any way to unbick it like the round ones because
- I don't know which pins you have to short (OTG seems to be able by shorting the jumper)
- AND I don't know any IMG for these devices...
