Help! MK802 iv Ser # 20140801XXX

I have a MK802iv that I tried to put Ubuntu on with no success.
I used these instructions:

Everything seems to flash (no errors).
But when I power off the device and hook it to a monitor and power on, I get nothing. (The monitor signal lights blinks.)
I can reinstall the Android image and it works fine to the desktop and beyond.
Even tried the v1.24 loader. What am I doing wrong???
Any help will be appreciated.

Were you able to resolve this problem? I've flashed dozens of these prior to serial 201404XXXX and had no issues whatsoever! I've tried the riko linux and picuntu images and both says "Run OK" but I get a blank screen with no output. I've also tried it with loader v1.24, v2.07, and v2.19 and all have the same results.

This is really annoying.. I am using these nice linux images to run chromium in kiosk mode and they have been working flawlessly!
