You can see the little button above the white cable at the top left of the picture. This button doesn't trigger boot into recovery but it did seem to trigger booting from SD.

Do you see anything else of interest?

@JustMe I am currently downloading your rom for cyclone x4, i was just wondering if there had been any developement , as to bricking devices/testing,, i have twrp back up on sd and i am a willing guinea pig TIA

I have followed all the steps from post 10 except putting the files onto a SD Card and all I get it the verification failure. Am I doing something stupidly wrong?

The files need to go on an SD card so the box will boot into the recovery on the SD which doesn't do the verification check.

Sorry if this is a daft question but you are loading the SD card via the SD Card slot and not via a USB adapter?

Just a tip to those flashing other ROMs.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BRICK, Take the bootloader out of the ROM update! JustMe knows how to do this but it's not hard.
Even if you flash a bad recovery, these boxes will always boot a recover.img from SDcard FIRST. But if you want to be totally safe, then also remove flashing recovery.

As long as you never flash the bootloader you cannot hard brick!

It can't be using the recovery on the SD card if it's failing verification. I would suggest using a different SD, and make sure it's formatted to FAT32. It might also be worth using the TWRP recovery for the TV110 (see sticky at top of this forum) as it looks completely different from the Android one and you'll know for sure that the SD card is getting read correctly.

Instructions:
1)Download this files:

2)copy the files to a fat32 formatted pendrive
3) Follow the same instructions as per install a new firmware
4) You should see the recovery, Select "apply update from ext" then "update from udisk" then select the zip file there.
5) wait for it to install and if there's no error message you are safe to pull out the pendrive and reboot.

Alternate:
If the first method doesn't work try this:
-Do steps 1 and 2 from the previous method
-Plug the pendrive to the box (the box must be turned on)
-Install Terminal emulator
-Open terminal emulator and write "reboot recovery", hit enter
-Continue from step 4 on the previous method.
