WHat GPL violates? all. where is the firmware sources? I want to compile it and use on other devices
Do Wetek wrote drivers? i doubt it, do wetek created bunch of rest of stuff they use? No.
I agree Wetek is better, and if cost 15euros less-i would buy it instead of vigica

Also mr. GuRu sells compiled firmware in his website for money. Since when GuRu owns the code? I myself developer, but Windows, and i agree-that people who work to fix code have to be paid, but not like this. I know that in russia no laws, country ruled by another Lenin, but this code was created by Western world, russia can make their own and sell.

Most people don't understand that Android license is Apache that allows to modify the code without redistributing it (otherwise Sammy should release Touchwiz code, not that I want it / HTC should release Sense code, etc.). People at big G made it that way otherwise any manufacturer would have taken Android seriously if all their work could be forked and "stolen".

Regarding WeTek, as already mentioned the OE code is on codesnake and official OE repos, and the Android kernel sources are here, that is the code that has to be released to fulfill the GPL license.

Not to mention, speaking of OE, that if other Amlogic devices (even competitors) can have it running is because of codesnake's work

There's people that forks XBMC, make changes on it, put it on their device and never releases the modified code. And XBMC/Kodi is licensed under GPL terms...

we not talking here about android, android as it self is useless. We talk about all the rest. android we can download without any problem.
Anyways my point is heard. Don't see why we should spam this topic with this. WHat WeTek have in hardware that it is soo awesome? Who can tell? The hardware is a joke in this device and others like it.

Have you actually seen at least one wetek review and compared it to other chinese boxes who just adopt pure amlogic sdk for their box and sell it?

WeTek is not Chinese company, thats first. And all sources you need is available in OpenELEC official github repository as WeTek is officially supported by OpenELEC.
