Want OpenELEC but could never install 1.1.6 rom on my MX2

    Hello everyone,

Perhaps you can help me with this, since the Matricom guys never did.
    I have a very buggy G-Box Midnight MX2 running 1.1.5 Rom.
I never updated to 1.1.6 because I couldn't (I get the "script aborted (no error message)Installation aborted." error after getting to 100% of the installation).
Now, I find out there is a possibility to install OpenELEC on it, but first need to update to 1.1.6.
After a few tries (once again) I give up. Is there something else I can do?

    Thanks!

From 1.1.5 you can install Croniccorey's Gotham release. I find it a lot better than the openelec release

Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware, and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.

Failing that, have you tried the OTA update app under applications? If your box is a genuine G-Box, you should be able to update over the air

Actually, when you posted this, I was already on that road. I went:

      1.1.5 → MX_LINUX-1.01r2-G18REF_MX2REF-update = no wifi, so back to 1.1.5

      1.1.5 → MX_LINUX-v1.00-RC1-G18REF_MX2REF-update = wifi, but old XBMC

MX_LINUX-v1.00-RC1-G18REF_MX2REF-update → MX_LINUX-1.01r2-G18REF_MX2REF-update = again, no wifi, only that network manager addon which doesn't seem to work

That's where I'm at right now, latest from CronicCorey but no way to go online

Install again but this time manually format cache and data partition.
