    Dead UG802?

    Hey Guys,

Went to turn the HDMI to the UG802 and it looks like the unit might be dead...No blue lights when plugged in to USB and also not regonised by Windows when plugged directly into the PC..

Is weird i've tried on two tv's it looks like the HDMI becomes active i.e. on the samsung TV's i can select the relevant hdmi port but get nothing...

    Anyone seen anything like this?

It seems the micro usb port was broken. Did you plug and un plug the usb cable many times. The micro port soldering is very 'fragile'.
You can try to power up the UG802 via the output usb port. I could do that with mine by using a powered usb hub. The cable that connects the ug802 to the power hub can act as the power cable. If you are lucky, this will work.

Hey mate yeah tried both was my first though ...Thinking it may have been heat related as i left plugged in behind the tv for a week.

Is strange thought when plugged into either micro usb or the full usb port after a little bit of time the unit becomes hot as if it's running....and the HDMI port it's plugged into become "active" i.e. selectable on the TV's.....

Just wierd nothing actually comes on the screen and no light..Tried copying the update.img to the SD card hoping maybe it's a corrupt firmware but no luck.

Sorry to hear that. I can only think of the flashing it by forcing the boot by shorting the NAND point. But this need opening the case and voids warranty if there is such. To my understanding, putting the update to the sdcard only works when you can see the working screen and select the update optiion. Good luck.
