ubox r89 4k tv problem

Hello my dad bought a Samsung Smart HU8500 and when connected with hdmi cable it gives a black screen and the tv gives a message to check hdmi cable, i tried several other cables all without result. i even flashed the box again with 110K4109_1016 also without result.

i thought the hdmi port was maybe broken. i took his device home and connected on my full hd tv and it worked immediately

so my question is: is the software on the ubox r89 not ready for hdmi 2.0/4k tv? all his other hardware like dvd player, dreambox, settopbox etc just working great on the 4k tv!

@oman have you guys tested this on other 4k screens?

my dad is now very dissapointed as he was using the ubox everyday

We tested some kinds of 4k TV,and I heard of the issue from others in some Samsung brand TVs..We dont know the real cause right now...you can do some test as no_spam given to you at first.

The latest ROM(110K4109_1016 ) supports the HDMI 2.0/4k .

I went today to my father and the option for changing uhd color didn't work. There was another option to plug it in another tv and swith the hdmi to the samsung tv without unplugging power of the ubox and that worked! So he can finally use it again.

Switching to 4k in screen settings results in black screen. I set it to 1080p-60 and that works. For now he's satisfied but hopefully one day the ubox supports samsung uhd tv's without problems

Try wasser's ROM..

I found one kind of samsung 4k TV has the same issue...and I think his ROM might fix this.

The root cause relates to the pixclock..The TV's EDID info and it's supported pixclock are not match.

Just want to report that the problem is still the same. I also tried different ROM like Wasser, Mo123, Leolas. Pictures cut in and out to Sam Sung TV(flickering). It seems like the TV receive the box signal and did not receive the box signal in a couple minutes later. Hopefully, you can fix this in the next firmware.
