HI guys:

Another great news from tronsmart. Seems their android team is working on porting the ANDROID TV OS to the draco aw80. I just get the following photo:


Till now, i haven't got the schedule for this, but it still make me feel excited!! This is the first made-in-china tv box which let me see the possible to install the Android TV OS.

I will keep you update, if i get more information!!!

This is excellent news, which confirms that the Draco is capable. It has the power and flexibility to offer a versatile platform for several OS's. But at the moment, none of the available firmwares is fully optimized. Hopefully, the Tronsmart team will not only experiment, but also fine-tune.

Not the first ... But who knows? Geniatech already have developers pushing for a release date on Android L for Mygica. This shows Allwinner working version. In China everyone wants to be first ... First Octacore, First 4K ... First Android L ... Let see who's firmware is awesome FIRST 😄

Call me a killjoy / spoilsport, but I prefer the good old GUI (I don't like these kinds of GUI) but of cause one benefit of the Android TV (LP 5.0) would be the using of optimized apps (TV instead of touch) but at the moment they are not available (except some), so we will see if this will be really a benefit or not....

I like the lean back launcher, but I like Nova too, there should be an option in Android settings for preffered home launcher.

You would be able to install Nova or a standard launcher on them also would you not?

I GUESS that it would be possible, but I haven't heard of a Nexus Player running Nova and being able to install any Android app like you can on most Android based tv boxes. My GUESS is that it would need to be rooted, and with some mod, would be able to flip between ATV skin/Regular android.

Perhaps a question for XDA on the Nexus Player forum, Im gonna go look there now.

So if this port actually works well it won't be impossible to mod it to add another launcher and install non-android tv apps?
