Requirements:
What works:
- Removed preinstalled apk files. NY Times, Moviefone, etc. have *all* been removed and can be added via Google Play.
- Added a useable (albeit older) version of Google Play.
- Added Root/Superuser.apk by default.
- Build.prop changed to Nexus 7 (for Google Play purposes).
What doesn't work (somewhat):
- Google Play-This admittedly needs a bit of help-I experienced a few issues with wifi connection/Market updating to Google Play (I had to shutdown/reboot the tablet once or twice). I noticed the way around this was to either shutdown/restart a few times or to let the tablet 'settle' for a few minutes before I attempted to connect to Wifi and/or sign into Google Play.
- Wifi (possibly related to #1). Though Wifi *did* eventually work, I had to shutdown/start up the tablet a few times. What *seemed* to solve this was to let the tablet sit for a few minutes before doing anything with it. Not sure why this is happening (perhaps because the stock ICS kernel on the Polaroid site is 4.0.3??).
With that said, feel free to give it a spin and provide feedback.
P.S. if you're a developer and have some tips for me, feel free-I've clearly only gotten a BASIC understanding of cooking and haven't even delved into boot.img, init.rc and/or recovery.img manipulation yet...
