    Minix Neo X8-H PLUS Stock 11/24 ROM in flashable ZIP format - FIXED!

    Update 12/21/2014

    The box came with a dead recovery and the recovery I had in my original ZIP was a copy of that so it did not work.
    Additionally the stock ROM when flashed with the USB burning tool also flashed this bad recovery!
    Thus you got a black screen when you booted into recovery either on SDcard or in NAND!
    Now this comes with a good recovery and this stock ROM will flash a good recovery so your recovery in NAND will work.

    Please note: The download file name is now neo_x8plus_stock_11242014a.zip
    The a = fixed download. My original download has been removed

    OK folks. Minix is released their first X8H Plus ROM as flashable images using the AML flash tool.

    Unfortunately Windows 8.1 users have problems getting the drivers installed and the flash tool working.
    I don't have Windows 8 so cannot test why the drivers are a problem.

    But.... here is the stock ROM in ZIP update format.

    This is the Minix X8H Plus - 11/24 ROM


    NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DEVICE! So backup anything you want to keep!
    Minix is not releasing ZIP updates only flash tool updates. The flash tool erases the box!
    There is a reason for this.
    Major updates it is much better to erase as you don't know what junk is left from previous ROM that can cause problems! As people saw on an update that did not erase, things were not right like a missing stock browser, etc.

    Almost done with my first ROM for the Plus. Will be the same as my 2.0 ROM for the X8 but with other cool stuff

    I may finish tomorrow.

    So who has the plus?

        Hi!
        Does other people works this firmware?
        It doesn't work to me.
        I upgrading the device, and just get to the first MINIX logo , then the black screen...
        I downloaded the firmware from here: http://www.minixforum.com/downloads/...PLUS_stock.rar
        (MD5 checksum ok)
        Today I tried this firmware, but the situation is the same.
        It's as if wrong kernel
        Now the X8-H kernel work, but there is no WiFi and LAN

          Well I can tell you the X8-H kernel will not work at all on the X8 Plus. I tried it. I get the boot screen then nothing but dashed lines jumping on the screen, then a black screen!

          Sounds to me like you do not have a real X8 Plus? The X8-H ROM should not work at all.

          Clone maybe?

            He does the same to me, just X8-H Plus firmware.
            I updated into X8-H 002/9 (X8_X8H_002BETA9-2) firmware, so now with incomplete but it works. (no wifi and LAN).
            I also thought that clone, but took it apart, and it's not!
            Everything is in place, s812H processor, the motherboard is exactly what it should be.
            New remote control, + M1 remote control, and the hologram sticker is also okay

              I think it is original, not clone.
              Maybe the problem is elsewhere.

                Yes that is original,my 2cent maybe amlogic s802 is same like amlogic s812 I will try ROM for am s812 on my defect am logic s802 device ,and I will post here

                    But I X8-H Plus firmware does not work!
                    Since there is no other original firmware, so fearing upload on the device X8 H-002 firmware.
                    Thus, at least to Operates somewhat.
                    Were not even work in the recovery, had to upgrade burning tool.
                    Now work recovery, boot and load the android, but not work wifi and lan.

                        Something is not right.....

                        1) If I flash my X8-H with X8-H plus ROM I get a blank screen with dashes jumping around then finally a blank screen. Doesn't work at all
                        2) If I flash my Plus with X8-H ROM it hangs on boot screen.


                        I think you have a bad box or something.

                          I did a little help if you have you been to grief like me
                          Can be downloaded from the pack:

                          Unzip the downloaded file and copy the two files (reconstruction-x8-h_plus.zip and recovery.img) to the root of your SDcard.

                          Unplug the appliance and then put back the power.
                          Press and hold recovery (5sec.), and turn on the power button.
                          If loaded the recovery menu, and the remote control does not work, do not be shy.
                          Tie it with a mouse on the device, and repeat the first step.
                          There is a case where you do not see the recovery of the sd card, it's not a problem.
                          The reconstruct_x8-h_plus.zip file is copied to a USB stick (pendrive), and repeat the first step. (The sd card is required)

                          Perform the update, which is a bit lengthy, because the update zip contains raw image formats.
                          Good luck with your device recovery

                            Hi, am trying to flash this rom but unable to go unto recovery. Following the instructions to go into recovery but I get black screen. Looks recovery is locked or something. Any help people?

                              Have you the same problem as me.
                              It can restore the device, if you follow my instructions.
