[Q] Tablet to replace pipo m9 pro with

    So I have a pipo m9 pro

I have been looking at getting another one from China, but im really struggling to find something that I can justify upgrading to .

Ideally i want to stay with a 10" screen
    I'd like to upgrade to a 2048 x 1536 screen or better
I'd like a faster CPU , but the Octa cores all look slower than the RK3188 in the M9 Pro
Storage needs to be a 16gb min, not bothered for anything larger, especially with a SD slot.
    Doesnt need GPS

As it stands, the only all rounder I can realistically see is the Samsung Galaxy tab s, Im happy to go with that, but I'd prefer not to drop so much cash on it or would rarther something with a large modding cimmunity as opposed to something from big manfr.

So, what would you guys suggest I look at, I almost got the Cube talk x9 , until I read that the new batch seem to have pretty pad screens in them now.

So where would you drop your cash ?

Honestly I'd either get the p9 which has rk3288 (I have this) or the Onda v989. The onda has the display you're looking for, but is 9.7 inches. Also doesn't have GPS, but you said its not a requirement. The onda can be had cheaper than the pipo, and they announced lollipop firmware (android 5.0) for next week. Who knows if and when pipo will release. The p9 is still on 4.4.2. One of the devs here Randy has a v989 ordered, and may be cooking a ROM for it after he gets it. There is also a forum www.ondaforum.com that has a bunch of ROMs and support. So, if you like to stay current, onda will probably be better.

Thanks for that, the p9 was an option, however its let down by resolution .

Even the Sony xperia z2 was an option until I saw the resolution

Intresting re the Onda on Lollypop

Any idea on the true Antutu score of the Onda? We know the silly scores aint true for that CPU, the mp pro hits out at around 22k I think

I have the P9...it's the best that I've seen...basically the M9 Pro with updated components. The P7 is going to be released as an updated M8HD with 3288.

I can tell you more about the Onda later this week when my sample tablet arrives with the latest hardware updates.

The p9 does look great and I would have ordered by now had it had the higher resolution screen

Will. Look forward to your thoughts on the Onda later this week then

              I wrote on another thread:

"I think that other than our fantastic cube talk 9x the best tablets of the moment are:

Teclast P98 air (with allwinner a80T SoC)
ifive air (with RK3288 SoC and a fantastic rated boot time of 10sec)
Teclast x98 air 3G II with dual boot Windows/Android (with Intel Z3735 SoC)"

I can add also the Cube T9 with New octacore Cortex A53 64Bit (this is a very promising tablet)

              all are 4:3 with 2048x1536.
In my opinion the 4 tablets above are the very best in the chinese market now.
I think I would go for the Cube T9 now, or the Teclast P98 air....

The t9 does look a winner, struggling to see where I can buy it tho?

Cube T9 does also support 4G LTE

Of course, sorry wasnt with it last night, was half asleep.

It does look like a winner, the only worry is being an early adaptor without a huge amount of information being out there yet.

you're right, but if it is reliable as my cube talk 9x (as I suppose T9 is), you will be very very happy!

No news on any chinese tablet with Android Lollipop.

                          What is known is that:

there is a SDK for RK3288 to develop roms for lollipop (but never seen a rom so far)
Allwinner announced Android lollipop develpment for their SoCs

Nothing more...but I suppose that newer mediatek devices (even more a 64bit one) will receive the update quite soon.
