I followed the steps in the README file that came with the Finess download (4 different ways of doing it) and none of them worked. Every time I tried, I kept getting an error. Tried to do it over the update feature on the box too and it didn't work

Extract the files out of the zip and put the ones you need on the card am at work at the moment so can't give you the filenames you'll need the zip and aml at least

Did you format your sd card and put the rom and the AML file in the formatted card,then did the click and hold in the A/V hole then reconnected the power cord then you should find that it automatically installs if an error occurs you can usually rollback if it fails.

ok ive finished worked just seen your screenshot there look like the signature is bad maybe you added something or deleted somethng from the zip and it it messed the signature up. here is what to do

extract the zip that has these files inside and copy
em8_finless18.zip
factory_update_param.aml

to your memory card and update from recovery os the settings menu. I would suggest you do a factory reset after you do this and youll be good to go mate

ps im using this version of xbmc (kodi atm) http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/a...rmeabi-v7a.apk was released the 20th of dec. I have a hd ready tv and my sd looked bad but i went to 720 rebooted the box and sd looks good now not all blocky like it was.

Hi Grant! Thanks for the informative reply..especially right after work. Yes, perhaps it had something to do with the files being zipped. I only put files on the sdcard that the README file stated. I tried all of the steps from that file and it didn't work. I will try and follow your guide above as it makes more sense and it's a little more detailed. I'm sure you already read the steps inside the .txt file.

Oh that's not bad then. I certainly would like to try that version of Kodi and experiment a little until the final version comes out. Hopefully I won't run into any issues. I read that a lot of people with the Finess ROM have some major issue with interlacing video (not even sure what that is but it does not sound fun).

I'll try all this out later on after work mate!

square m8 some clone I would Guess and im using finless 1.8. Im playing about with my new tronsmart r28 at the moment. The m8 has been evicted to the living room now and running like a champ. I wish I could say the same about the r28 but thats another story.
