i turned off auto hdmi auto detection and new monitor is diff resolution- how do i re enable or get it to recognize

So i have a couple of tv's in my place that are all 1080p 60z...
the new firmware was only recognizin them at 720, so i changed it manually and everything was great.
i sent the box to my friend out of town and he has 2 tv's 4k and 720p which means he is getting a black screen.

i know it is not the hdmi issue people had but the auto detect setting turned off.

is there a trick holding a button or something on boot that would redetect the hdmi setting?

component works fine, but the auto select option is greyed out and i cant re enable.

i know he can go look for a 1080p tv and try to get it to boot....but thats the last resort.
    thanks in advance

it's oman's latest firmare 110k or somerhing to that effect.

Any possibility of using it's A/V output port to connect to the composite ins on his display/TV? Also, does your buddy have a Computer monitor with HDMI in? Does he own an A/V receiver with HDMI I/O?
    These might be shots-in-the-dark.
    Good luck.

I don't own one, but surely you could get in to the recovery mode and see what options you have. Reset to factory defaults, or something similar. The answer is probably in these forums though. Good luck.
