    AMlogic M8 HDMI issues / drop out

    So I have a M8 (square shape) with the original board i believe - samsung ram etc.
    My problem is with the HDMI connection, let me explain;

    While using the box, it will suddenly lose HDMI signal (TV no longer detects HDMI input). The only way to get it going again, is to completely remove the power cable, and then re-insert it.

    Things I have tried;
    - I have tried unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable - HDMI still not detected
    - I have tried wriggling the HDMI cable, pushing down/up firmly (as I have read other similar threads with beelink box) - does not flicker or anything - HDMI completely dead
    - I have tried a different HDMI cable when the issue occurs - HDMI still not detected
    - I have tried keeping the box plugged into the power, but plugging the HDMI cable into an entirely different tv - HDMI still not detected
    - I have tried flashing different ROM/Kernel + clearing cashe in recovery mode - issue still here

    So to my conclusion, there is no problem with firmware/kernel (I am not 100% ofcourse - this is just an assumption) - since I have tried different firmware/kernel and issue appears to be still here.
    In fact when I flashed a custom firmware/kernel (Stanes), when the issue occured, and I unplugged and replugged the power, the HDMI didnt come back this time (which was very weird - since it always come back instantly after power cycle) - I tried a few times and gave up. Next day it turned on again as normal. This leads me to believe it might be something to do with heat? Then HDMI signal dies ? I dont get it.

    I have read some threads about the circle shape beelink with similar issues, but have not come accross any threads about the M8 square shape version. My friend also bought the same unit, and also has the same issue. It appears to be a faulty batch of some sort.
    Does anyone have some insight, and what the issue could be? And what I can do on my end to solve it. I am not particularly looking to send the unit back, as the issue cannot be seen straight away, and im afraid i will waste money on postage and receive the faulty unit again, or another faulty unit from the batch.

    As bizarre as it sounds have you tried another power supply? I had one behave the same and it was the power supply the blue light remains on but drops the HDMI? my other box was Heat related, I took the original heat sink off and heat pad and replaced it with good quality heat paste and that seemed to cure it, better still replace the heat sink with a bigger one, problem is the cover won't close properly

    These boxes do get hot and the heat sinks I believe are too small
    Hope it helps you
