I need help to choose a box. Mainly for PLEX.

So thanks in advance for any and all help.

So currently I am running Plex media server on my NAS with around 14TB of 1080p content.
Running Plex for Samsung on 2x Samsung TV's via Ethernet, they play all content perfectly.

Now I have a projector and several other TV's that I would like to also run plex.

So what box's do I buy???

Was looking at the S812 boxes but don't like the idea of no HDMI 2.0 and limit of 2gb ram, so I was thinking maybe a RK3288 box.

I think I would like the boxes to have:
4gb ram (I like additional performance overhead)
    HDMI 2.0
    gigabit Ethernet
    optical out
storage doesn't matter as all content on Media server and l'll delete as much bloatware as possible.

Have seen the Tronsmrt R28 Talos but doesn't look like out yet, also the HPH NT-V6.

Can someone please recommend a box that will do what I want.

    If HDMI 2.0 then RK3288
=> if 4GB then HPH /Ugoos UT3 (I have no idea if and when Trronsmart will release the 4GB version) ...

As Plex does most of the work, Just about any box will do the Job.
How to interface to your many devises to watch is the way I see it.

Chromecast and other cheaper devises may work and just mirror it to the TV.

I have a cheap TV with HDMI in spare room with Chromecast use the Phone
or a Tablet to run up Plex then cast it to that TV.

      Just another option to Ponder

      Cheers

        Hi Trebor,
        thanks for advice.
Plex server is just that, it serves up the media. The player still has to be powerful enough to play the content without pausing and caching. I don't want the server to do any transcoding. Chromecast and mirrowing is out of the option as all but one player I want to run via Ethernet as all content is large bit rate and large file sizes also don't like the idea of using a phone or tablet as its another device and plex is no fuss nice and sleek. I do have an Ouya that I borrowed and tried, would play 720p tv shows wired but would cache on 1080p movies wired, on wireless would only play 30% of 720p TV shows without caching and no 1080p movies without caching.

        Hi no_spam_for_me,
        thanks also for hep.
would you choose the HPH or the Ugoos?

Does anyone use Plex on a media box to play large 1080p file movies, if so what do you use? Love to order a test unit before xmas if possible.

        Thanks
