    ok take the kernel from the 8gig version and replace it to the previous version and reflash again.
    if the problem is still there than its the kernel.

                          ok take the boot.img and the kernel.img and put it on the first snakegenmod rom.
                          and flash it again. and look if the apps are compatible

                            what are your settings for apex launcher ?
                            phone or tablet.
