Opinions on pipo p8 build quality

    Hi all,

I quite like the spec and performance of Pipo p8 but had a bad experience with horrible build quality of the one I purchased before, which i returned and got refund. Now I want to try another seller and hope for a better built one, although I want to know the other owner's opinion on their P8 before buying.

Here is the list of issues I had :

    - Very bad light leaking around 3 edges of the screen
    - traces of glue around the screen where joining the body
    - Twisting and creaking body which would impact the light leak as well

Mine was black version, I heard from a Chinese seller that black frame has issue , but white doesn't . can any one confirm?

    Thanks

Yes, I have heard somewhere that the white ones are better built.

I have good luck with Geekbuying.com (regardless of the negative threads about them).

    Pipo's official seller is Pipomall.com

would be great to hear other owners feedback to.

I had my mind on Cube Talk 79 3G octa core but I believe P8 is more powerful

Cube 79 seems a very interesting device, but cube T7 (http://www.ainol-novo.com/cube-t7-4g...droid-4-4.html) is even more with a 64bit capable device and 4G support.

P8 with RK3288 should have a little bit more juice over cube 79 but should at the same level of cube t7.

I own a device with MT8392 chip (the same of cube 79) and I don't feel any lack of power...

Thanks for your comment, I wish there was a 8inch version of T7 ... do you know if they going to introduce one any time soon?

Does your device with MT8392 have Retina display as well? in terms of power, just for me reference, what is the most intense game it can play without any frame drop? or in 3dmark test how well it renders the animations?

yes, it's retina 2048x1536 (cube talk 9x). It can run asphalt 8 smoothly without issues. I got an antutu result of 29000 points.

I didn't test other 3D games (i do not use my tab for gaming).

Thanks, would be interesting to see if they make a larger screen of T7!

I ordered a Black p8, but it wasn't available so the seller asked me if I wanted to change to White. So now I received White one. On a complete Black background there are no lighter spots, and with my bare eyes it seems equal. If I twist the tablet, there are no sqeeks and seems solid. There was only a minor dent in the aluminia on the back.
