Issues with ethernet connectivity on M8 Amlogic. Please help!

Hello,

Since day one, I just could not get the Ethernet to work and instead I've been using wifi which leads to much more buffering and such from all the devices connected to the network. When I turn off wifi on my tv box and click on the ethernet feature, it keeps saying 'Connecting' the whole time and never connects. I was wondering how this can be fixed. Do I need a firmware update or something else? Please help.

Have you tried another cable? is it connected directly to your router? does any other device in your house connect using the same point?

I have tried another cable and it's the same. The router has a few things connected to it which is why I don't want to plug it in there (have tried and does not work unfortunately). I would like to connect it to the main cable/internet box provided by my ISP so that it's directly hardwired to that instead of a wireless router.

I read that some people are having that issue as well and they fixed it with upgrades to their tv box. I just don't know which one is for me. There are many out there and wouldn't want to try and end up bricking my box
