    UG802 Permisson Denied running ./ubuntu.sh

I seen how it works on a cell phone so wanted ubuntu to run on my UG802. I just don't get why when I go to run it it will say "Permission denied" I even did a chmod 777 on it. Still don't help. I don't know what is wrong any one know? I did su too for root or super user.

I will put a screen of it in here so you can tell just what I did. I did a cat of the ubuntu.sh file so you see the end part of it on the screen.

Are you on a rooted ROM or stock? Stock does have su but it doesnt have root. Also in Android you do not type su root. You just type su. But the fact that you have a # prompt usually means you are root. Then the final thing is system is mounted RO. If ubuntu script requires syste, to be RW then you need to do a remount command. That is again if your rooted.

I got the rooted ROM in it.

It boots now with the rooted ROM I did from a SD card.

Did a "su root" this time but it still did not help. I still get a "Permission denided" a "ls -l" shows "sdcard_rw" so I guess it's mounted in rewight mode. I am not sure what else I can do. Maybe mount and remount it.

I just did a mount -0 remout,rw still no good.

I did a "mount -o remount,rw /mnt/external_sd" now when I type in "./ubuntu.sh" it says "No such file or directory" I went back out the folder and back in but that did not help.

Just copy the script "ubuntu.sh" to the local file system and then run it

I did but still don't work.

I could not copy it to the inside flash drive said no room so I copied it to my 320GB USB lap top size hard drive. But now when I want to run it it says it's not there. "No such file or directory" I even typed ub and tab to fill auto fill the rest so it copies it from what it knows is there.

I don't know mybe the 320GB USB drive goes in sleep mode super fast. I don't don't get it. Here is a screen shot of it croped.

Can you try "sh ubuntu.sh" and see if that works

                That worked!

Thank you. I did "sh ubuntu.sh" and that runs it. It says it will takes some time. Wile it says that I typed this on here.

I guess that's the type of command for Android OS right? But I guess Android OS started from some Linux is that right?

Thanks again. I will post back here is this make Ubuntu work.
