Unresponsive remote CS918

Hi guys just wanting some guidance whether there is a solution to my new CS918 and its remote? its very unresponsive especially within XBMC and the video buttons whilst watching a movie. Most of the time it doesn't even work. My preference is to use a remote not a mouse which does make things work better but not suitable for my father.

those remotes are absolute crap..............buy a wireless mouse or get a decent air mouse both less than $20. I use mx3 air mouse works well and has a keyboard. Logitech k400 wireless keyboard with track pad also good option
