Noob here w/ a 809iii rk3188t v5.2 20141105 USB issue

    Noob here w/ a 809iii rk3188t v5.2 20141105 USB issue

    Greetings,

    Bought off ****, Yellow/Black dual antenna model, 4.4 OS. Unboxed, added USB nub and plugged it into TV and power....kept rebooting after color swirl. Come to find out if there is nothing in the USB port, it boots to the desktop. WITH NO WAY TO CONTROL IT. Contacted the seller and he gave me this link for the Firmware:

    you have to use the otg port
    with a converter like this one

      Well every time I put ANYTHING in the USB port it would keep rebooting before the desktop showed.
      The seller is giving me an exchange. Will the OTG port connection also move data?

          You might just be a lifesaver my friend. I have a version 5_1 of this and can't find a rom anywhere that will boot. Gonna try this one.

          Is your wifi/bt rtl8723?

          Damn I just saw ROM is ap6210

            It was RTL 8723bs with an RK 3188T v5.2 sorry

            I ended up being able to send it back and get another (lost the $4 shipping back) but at least I will be able to have a working on out of the box.
