I just got my N101 back and flashed this ROM to it.

I'm having a new problem that escapes me as to finding a solution.

First of all, I can't copy files from internal SD over to external SD. I used to be able to do that on my old tablet, and I could do that with the stock ROM. I checked the permissions.XML file and all the appropriate lines are there for rw media files.

I downloaded the filesystemmanager app to try to remount the drives, but the system won't let me side load apps. I have checked the security settings which are correct. What happens is the app installation screen comes up without errors...but when you press install, nothing happens. You can press cancel, and the screen goes away.

I don't know if the two problems are connected.

Any ideas?

Well, it seems I found the solution to the sd card problems I just had.

For some reason I didn't get the IDB erased before I flashed, so I had a grab bag of other ROM pieces all over my tablet. It took several times to get the IDB erased before I could proceed. Wtf?

Anyway, back in business.

I'm puzzled with why it won't erase correctly.

Sometimes this happens. Why I do not know. You erase and it doesnt count up! It just comes right back with DONE and no count.

On the TV players loader 1.16 fixed this but we DO NOT DARE flash that loader on the Yuandao N101. Mine counts up to 16384 when erasing and the TV player 1.16 loader counts to only 2048. And remember I have wanred before. FLashing the wrong loader can brick you and make you take it apart to short NAND and erase it!

Now one tip I noticed. When the tool is up and you go into flash mode and see the Rock Loader USB message. Close the tool and wait about 5 seconds or so. Run the tool again and then try. Usually this works for me.

I think that is what I ended up doing, because it ended working after I exited the tool and started over.

Very strange things were happening with bits and pieces of different ROMs. I surprised it even booted.

It took me a while to find that even though it said it completed the erase, it didn't do anything. It let me flash right over what was still there.

Yes, this is a loader problem! All RK30 products I have had to date have this little quirk that sometimes shows up. It was not until I started to see a new loader 1.16 that it solved it. Unfortunately I doubt we will see a new loader from Yuandao.
I would test loader 1.16 but I do not want to have to take my N101 apart to fix it if it goes bad.
