    MK809III USB Wifi Stick ?!

Hello, my wifi signal is very weak and I decided to buy a USB Stick to solve the problem !

But I dont get it working, the stick should work with Android. There is a driver for it at the homepage of asus.

The stick is a asus usb-n10 nano and on my mk809 smics custom Rom is running.

Is there a possibility to install the driver ? It is a SDK driver and I am a noob, so I dort know, what I have to do !

Could anyone please please help me ?

    Move the module.ko to /system/lib/modules/

    Run Terminal Emulator and type

    su
    insmod /system/lib/modules/module.ko

first of all thank you for your reply.

I searched the driver but there is no *.ko file.

only *.c *.h and .mk files

which one I have to copy ?

      here I downloaded the driver:
      http://www.asus.com/Networking/USBN10_NANO/HelpDesk_Download/

      Version 4.0.5.11249

        Even in the Linux file?

        Version 4.0.5.11249

ASUS USB-N10 Nano Linux Driver version4.0.5.11249
        OS Supported:
        Linux kernel 2.6.18~3.10.10
        Android 1.6~2.3, 4.0~4.4
        8.22 MBytes update 2014/07/21
        Global
It appears to be Realtek 8188cus so try that if it isn't already in modules.

I downloaded the file for the driver and it appears to have all the directions you need to install that to your android device. You may need to extract the tar.gz file in there, I can't look into that from where I am now. Read through the manuals and readmes in there, you'll learn something useful.

Is your mk809 running 4.2 or 4.4? I can take a look later.

okay, so those instructions are not needed. unless you are building a device and have the chip built in.

so here is what you do:

there is a link to armtvtech with the driver linked. You'll need to register there to get the download.

then follow the instructions to move it to system/lib/modules and run terminal emulator and insmod it.

make sure that you first unplug the dongle, reboot the device, move the module to the location rename to rkwifi.ko (rename original rkwifi.ko to rkwifi.ko.bak), run emulator commands su and insmod rkwifi.ko then exit and power down, insert dongle and then power up and try wifi on.

Thank you very much for your work, unfortunately I get an error message (Exec format error) !

I also tried the solution form cm8 to load it form /system/bin/insmod rkwifi.ko, but I also get this error

such a pain in the ass

I will try some other drivers and maybe I will find some that will work

Update: I tried all of the .ko's and nothing worked ! I figured out that the module is compiled for wrong kernel version, I need 3.0.36 and it is 3.0.8 !

I finally found a driver, but the dongle not work properly. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7gmf9271l7tpc6w/wifi.zip

When I enable Wifi the MK 809 freezes and reboot.

I need some help to get it work, maybe the wpa_suppclient or something ?

It uses the AP6210 after rebooting.

Can someone please please help me ?
