Kodi/XBMC Launcher S802 - S805?

Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone has had any luck getting either Kodi or XBMC working as the default launcher on either a S802 or S805 box?

The only way I've got it to work is with the XBMC launcher app but it would be great if I could do it without the app.

There is something about the default launchers (Launcher2 or MediaBoxLauncher) that the box's seem to need to work. I'd edited the mediaboxlauncher to no be a launcher and just a standard app, but even that doesn't work and Kodi still does not launch correctly.

I've also tried installing a default copy of kodi and the XBMC launcher without any other launchers. You get the kodi first boot screen but thats it.

What is it about these default launchers?

Asking the same question in the RK forums, it seem using Kodi as the launcher works fine on RK chipsets so it looks like it's a AMLogic specific issue.

Any ROM devs out there have any ideas if it's possible to get this working?

just in case you have'nt worked it out, there is via SD card, the Vitmod 2.1, which works afetr a bit of work ..
im now going to try his vitmodOSv1 ... which i didnt find first and is newer !
