Beelink R89 Dead

    Beelink R89 Dead

    Hello to all guys .

    Well i am new to the forum so please excuse my ignorance in some cases.
    I ordered a Beelink R89 from Gearbest 1,5 month before. After so many delays the box finally arrived .
    I was full of happiness , i prepare everything correctly and i plug it on my TV. ( Panasonic Plasma Viera ) with the given HDMI cable that was in the box. i press the button, the blue led lights but nothing else happened . No signal on the screen , no sound, nothing at all.
    I think that that can not be possible so i tried to change the hdmi cable with some that i already had and i know that they are working , i tried another hdmi port , i even try another TV ( Samsung LCD ) but still nothing .
    No i am looking at the box , that has the blue led light but does nothing at all.
    The only thing that i haven`t try is another dc adaptor because i do not have anyone at 3A that the original is.
    Do you think that i must try another adapter too?
    Well i tried to update the machine and put it in recovery mode with all the ways that are writen in the forum but no luck .
    Does anyone had any symptoms like that?
    Anyway i would like to avoid the DOA and return the box to China because of the delays .
    Can you please give me any ideas that ii might did not think??

    masking mode

    try to search up masking mode within freaktab and you will se a picture wit the r89 pcb and the two holes you need connect with some wire that might work for you.

      Thanks a lot my dear friend .
      I tried every possible combination but my laptop does not recognize at all the box. I have windows 8.1 and i do not know if that is the problem . I will try with windows xp in a different machine and i will report back. I also bought a new dc adapter to try just in case the problem is with power.
      Any other suggestions maybe?

        Well i tried to several computers !
        The one with Windows Xp recognize the box but couldn`t start the android tool . It said config file failed .
        after that the tool loaded in Chinese but force closed after i choose the firmware and press upgrade.
        The computer with Windows 7 behave the same as the one with XP.
        No i came back to my laptop with windows 8.1 .
        I bought earlier a new cable usb to micro usb and my laptop recognized the box immediately.
        I loaded android tool and i saw that it was in mack mode although i did not open it to short the two holes .
        The normal i think is loader mode correct?
        Mine is always at maskmode whatever i do, even if i just connect the otg to my laptop and plug the power.

        I choose the update firmware it starts doing the job but stucks at download idb fail.
        Can someone pinpoint me to the right direction please?

            Thanks a lot for your response. Well before i post my thread i read almost everything about these boxes. I have read also the thread that you proposed and i saw that there is no solution about this too.
            In my tries on the other machines the androidtool did not work at all . Pop up while loading " config file failed " , after that loads in chinese and when i press any button it forces close.

            I install last night windows 7 in a netbook that i also have .
            I did the install fine , i install the drivers also , all correct , i hook up the box with the correct method , it recognizes it correctly but still in maskmode . I try to upgrade with androidtool that is working just fine in the new install and the thing stops in DOWNLOAD IDB FAIL again.

            So stuck again .
            I opened a ticket in Gearbest but no one respond to me till now.

              I loaded android tool
              Connect the device
              Erase Flash ( just for a change )
              Flashed erased fine
              Push upgrade button
              Download IDB Fail

                  That was my think too !!!
                  of course i am not sure too but i did all i could do to save it !
                  Gearbest still not respond in my open ticket about the RMA .
                  as i see it i will wait two months for a working tv box !
                  Plus the 45 days that i was waiting for the faulty one to be delivered !

                  Only someone from Beelink could explain as what are these logs !
