What firmware for pure linux on the m8?

    What firmware for pure linux on the m8?

    Iam thinking of trying to use the m8 instead of my raspberry pi to control some home automation.
    What firmware do you recommened?
    And where can i find it. I have look at stane1983 website but all of the downloads are gone.

    I don't know if you are able to manage what you want to manage with the available Linuxes at s802 because these Linuxes are not 'full' Linux version because they are only the base to run XBMC/KODI....

      Can you recommend any other device that is a suitible replace to a raspberry pi?

        If you only want to control some home automation it's really oversize but you will find RK3288 devices using the netxeon PCB with 2GB ram and 8GB flash (~100USD) (tronsmart/ubox/beelink) which are able to run a full linux distri...

        If you want to use a rk3288 device where you get ubuntu by the factory, you should buy a Ugoos/HPH with the T-Chip PCB, but the smallest version is 2/16GB and so more expensive (~130USD)...
