    Pipo, can we get the BIOS file?

    Can we get Pipo to give us the BIOS and how to flash it?

    Reason I ask is look at the link No_spam gave us the other day:

        BIOS modding

        OK boys and girls.... More new stuff to learn!

        1) We need to get all the AMI BIOS developer tools. Appears you can get them online other than from AMI.

        2) Learn how to DUMP the BIOS

        3) Learn how to mod the BIOS

        This forum seems to have it all

          Here is a zip file with some BIOS for 3 of Pipo's Windows tablets.

          Each contains a flash tool.

            Thanks but trust.... you don't want to go flashing a BIOS from something else unless you have the original in hand! BUt this will allow playing with some of the AMI tools.

            Flumpster yes, that is the latest version of the AMI AMIBCP tool that I could find out there!

                OK I was able to dump the BIOS using the AFUWIN32 utility.

                I am also able to open the BIOS using AMIBCP 4.55.0070 program.

                Time to play... but I am really concerned about flashing

                    The tool shows the BIOS as Aptio_CRB

                    Not sure what the heck that is?

                    I cannot find the windows keys in this AMIBCP tool. So it must ne some other tool needed.

                            So something is odd

                            OK I dumped the ROM and opened it in the tool.

                            Now I am seeing something that is not matching.

                            On this screen the BOM settings say: Windows 8.X/BOM3.0 as the setting with Android and another.

                            However when you boot into the BIOS the BIOS says Windows 8.X/BOM3.1

                            Also nothing on the BIOS screen allows you to change it? So something is not making sense to me but I ma NO expert here!

                              CRB = customer reference boards

                              I think the tool only dumps the binary and not the data, because at update you will keep the data...

                                Also I think the AMIBCP my not be fully compatible with this BIOS ROM.

                                Why?

                                Because for access to setting it gives these choices:
                                Default
                                Extended User
                                USER
                                Supervisor

                                But on the main BIOS screen on the X7 it says Administrator.

                                Also it appears this tool allows you to access things that in fact are not accessable in the BIOS.

                                How do you change that?
