Cheap and dirty way to fix fried tablets

If any one is interested I found a cheap and diy way to fix tablets after being fried by being plugged into the wrong power supply.

pipo uses a surface mount chip to charge the battery - they will sell you the chips ( bravo by the way) but a normal hobeyest cannot install them.

if anyone is interested I ca share method. Although not perfect it keeps otherwise usable tabs out the bin for a couple of $

It's happened to me more than once. Each time, I had to return the tablet.

I'm in favor of you sharing your experience because it's a very common problem.

It can be charged and used by usb. It is not yet ideal but it's a good start costs about $3 and a bit of solder. And charges through usb.

if I could find a 2 amp version it could be a winner I will show what I've done so al least people don't have to throw things away then maybe some bright spark on freaktab can help us refine it

          night night

                      Lights out on my M9pro

                      Hi,
Has anybody encountered a blank screen problem? While I was watching a video, the screen went dark and never came back. I reset it, turned it on. I could hear OS testing the camera. There is a slight light which is the backlight I guess. If I wait long enough, I can see the backlight go off, indicating the tablet going into sleep. I can wake it up. But I have no image or anything. Just backlight. What do you think happened, GPU failed? If it is software related, can putting it on mask mode help? I've already spent 60$ on blown voltage regulator, that is just for shipping. I don't know it it's worth trying to bring it back to life.

I have got the same problem on my first Pipo : a M8Pro

never have success to repair the screen !

But I used it over hdmi and with a air mouse, it's a TV box for my bedroom

Hi guys, sorry my original fix used a very cheap and possibly underpowered lithium ion charging board.

The 3amp one I have ordered has not arrived.

ive taken pics but I've either completely broken the m8 or just the underpowered charger.

i am committed to sharing but I want to make sure it's perfect before I do.

                            i will update asap

                            chris
