    MK809IV USB Debugging issues

New to the forum but not android.

I picked up a Diaotec MK809IV with android 4.4.2 installed. Right out of the box it has developer options enabled (great I thought). When I go into debugging all the options are greyed out and I can't select any of them. I have tried powering from a computer, from the included charger, and the tv but it still does not come up as a option to select.

I've tried it with connect to a computer selected and not selected with no change. I've rooted a ton of android devices over the years but this has me scratching my head. I've been googling it for the last few hours but have come up empty so far. So time for the experts.

    Thoughts ideas are greatly appreciated.

Be sure to use a good USB cable and plug into the OTG port, not power.

Is this not like a phone or tablet, where the usb debugging is turned on/off before you plug in a usb cable?

To add I have also tried doing a factory reset and found that a menu bar appeared at the bottom.

I think amazon may have sent me a returned previously played with android stick. That would explain why dev options was already there.

Every stick I have purchased has Developer Options already available. Had to unlock it on all my domestic stuff, never China stuff.

If you have the drivers installed and you are using a good USB cable, not the one that came with it, you should get a connection as long as you are plugging into the OTG port. Once you connect and power up, and you can see it connected to the TV, you might need to go to the USB option on the settings and check Connect to PC.

I've tried that with a HTC cable a Samsung Cable and 2 different no name cables. USB Debugging still will not turn on.

I'll try re-installing the drivers tonight but shouldn't USB Debugging be able to turn on without being hooked to a PC unless these are different than phones and tablets?
