Just got my Cube Talk 9X

Hi. Just got my CT9X today.
I'm a bit lost here, even after trying to find what I need.

Can anyone give me a guide to install a fresh rom (custom rom without shitty chinese junk) + root + backup everything needed?

I'm coming from phones (using Odin for samsung and CWM).. I don't know how it works with tablets. I don't wanna mess things.

    Thanks!
(Hebrew support [no crashes] needed in ROM for my mom)

    Some advices

    Hi there!

First you need to choose which rom/firmware you want use. You can find all roms and everything else you need for Talk 9X from here (link). If your tablet is manufactured 1426 or after you can use all V2.0 based roms. You can check when your tablet is manufactured from the serial number. It can be found from the backside of the tablet (check this post). Serial number should be written like this: "U65GTXXGB1426XXXXXXX" (14=year, 26=week). If the serial number is written like this (link) it means that your tablet is manufactured after 1426.

There are chinese apps in stock roms but you can delete them after root with titanium backup etc. You can also flash Lepi's (V1.8 or V2.0) or Brian's (aka 900Supersport, V1.8) rom where the chinese apps are deleted by default. You can find the instructions for flashing custom rom from the rom's thead. Remember to take backup first (link1, link2)!

If you want to flash Brian's rom you can use SP Flash Tool and root your tablet after flashing. If you want to use Lepi's rom you need to flash it via TWRP recovery. That means that you have to root your tablet before flashing rom.
Lepi has maked video tutorial how to flash and use TWRP. You can find them from here (link). There are instructions how to root tablet via TWRP.

You can root your tablet also with this method via stock recovery (link) or RootGenius. I hope this helps you.

I have some minor detail about above details:
      - All 900supersport and Lepi's custom ROM's are pre-rooted.
      - To flash Lepi's TWRP you have two options:
1.Lepi's TWRP will be flashed if you are already on custom CWM from 900supersport (you'll find that on every 900supersport ROM version)
2.through SP Flash Tool if you decompress Lepi's TWRP archive, extract recovery.img. and put that into a folder with an scatter file or you can simply replace recovery.img on 900supersport ROM.
      - I recommend to pay attention on EBR1 and EBR2 files from 900supersport ROM - you can choose to make system partition 2,4 or 6GB. If you flash 900supersport ROM with 6 GB option, Lepi's ROM put over 900supersport will keep your system partition size option.

        ty

Thank you guys! Will do everythingthis weekend

One more question: I have noticed some overall lag, I expected this octa core device to run smoothly. Is that ROM related? (restrict device cpu is off, in battery settings). Transition animations are kinda choppy.. Using nova prime.

        Ty!

Second question: no lollipop (google keyboard) available for tablets?

          Ty!
Try Nova launcher and will be Ok..or better with Apex Launcher.
          To second question I have no answer .. I don't have 9X anymore , now I'm on T9.
About CPU settins option from Setting/Battery I have nothing to say..is useless (on or off - same thing)
Here is a short video with T9 and Nova launcher..sorry for quality but I'm in a hurry right now

cpu battey saving, if enabled, when battery is finishing (probably under 15%, but I'm not sure), reduce use of cores to save battery: this can be verified with antutu (score will be reduced a lot in this conditions).

About lag, I didn't noticed that, probably on stock rom there are many apps working in background that make your tablet running slow. My tablet is running fine on stock Rom v 2.0, with all chinese apps removed.
