To get the device driver used by ADB running, you need to edit one of the files. Sadly, I don't recall the details and I'm not having any luck finding the message that gave me the info I needed. It's similar to the stuff described here:
but the vendor ID is 2207 and the device ID is 0000. You can find the numbers using Device Manager on the unknown USB device that pops up when you plug in the nextbook.
I don't know how much can be done with the stock ROM. One of the things I tried before stumbling on the infor about editing the USB file was installing one of Finless Bob's ICS ROMs, so by the time I got it working my unit was no longer stock.
I also wound up buying some books on Java and Android, which have been pretty helpful since I was not acquainted with either.Comment
