    MK808B Plus - Any HDMI-CEC success stories?

    Hi there.

Although there are settings for CEC, I have not successfully got it to work.

Has anyone had any luck with HDMI-CEC with this device?

Just to be clear, what would you expect to achieve with CEC on this device?

I'm asking because this little thing is supposed to be always running, there's no standby or anything like that so the only thing that might work is to turn on the connected cec device

I expect a subset of TV remote control keypresses to be passed to the device. As is the case with a raspberry PI:

I think that doesn't work with Amlogic at all or am I wrong? According to the settings it is limited to turn on / off and that audio thing I don't know what really should do

I assume keypresses should be passed through?

If you SSH into the stick, there is an input device that seems to represent CEC, but no events seem to be passed through from the TV.

I'm aware of that cec_input device but I really don't know if it works or it's there only as a placeholder for future things

Just got one of this, and cec isnt working at all for me.
All am boxes i had until now had working cec.
And this one realy should have it working as it comes without any remote. Will play with it a litle to check if its hardware or software issue

I have heard that bad HDMI cables might be an issue, and I assume the one that comes with the box isn't of the highest quality.

I tested with the HDMI cable that for sure support CEC (checked with other amlogic box)
And still no luck with MK808B Plus.

In fact the miniHDMI->HDMI cable provided won't work with CEC controls (Anynet+ cannot find the stick on my 2 Samsung LED TVs (40d5700 and 48H6240); I bought an HDMI->MiniHDMI adapter from **** and tried to make CEC control to work with at least 2 or 3 "cheap and standard" 1.8meter HDMI cable... and it worked!!!! ...

... at least during 2 or 3 minutes... then Anynet+ somewhat "loose" the connection with the AMLogic and to make it work again I need to choose with my TV remote another HDMI port (for ex. if my MK808B Plus is plugged on HDMI 1 input and the recognition is 'lost' I need to choose HDMI 2, then go back to HDMI 1 AND to rescan for any compatible Anynet+ devices.. then it works again)...

Kind of useless, for the moment, but HDMI-CEC seems to be implemented into our MK808B Plus... But something's wrong after a few moments/after a few key pressings on the remote.

Any chances the issue might be only "software" issues?

(sorry for my bad english, I'm just... french! )

Edit: Tests were made using the original "Stock" Rom, the 109K update and Finless 1.1, and using any HDMI ports on the TVs. I tried also using the provided USB AC adapter or by plugging the miniUSB cable on the USB ports on TV. Everytime it works for 2 or 3 minutes then it's not.

As I suspected! I am running with Finless 1.1 and similar results with stock 109K4 as well. I have the same problem on my MXQ box. Cec function works for first few keypress and then stopped. This is software bug. Minix fixed it for x6 :
