Amologic M8N System update does not work and crash

    Amologic M8N System update does not work and crash

    Dear community,
    I'm trying to root my Amologic M8N, but I notice something strange when I go to:
    Settings => Other => System Update

    When I press ok on "System Update" it returns to home page. Seems something wrong and the settings crash! :-(
    Mine M8N is on stock firmware, no mod or other things applied. So now I'm stuck and I don't know how to root my device.

    Could someone help me to undertand why entering "System Update" doesn't work?

    The system update does not work in the android kernel to root your m8n you need Finless rooter zip file

    put it onto sd card or usb thumb drive and goto android user interface and update from there.

      I already downloaded finless zip file and put it on SD FAT32 formatted card (file manager shown the zip file without problem).

      But sorry, still don't understand:
      goto android user interface and update from there
      What I have to do? Maybe I miss something!
      Finless wrote: "3) Go into your APPs and run the update tool." But I have no application named as it.

      I see there is an icon named "update & backup"... Damn! I don't have that icon!!! Why???

        Got it...
        Installed from recovery and works perfect, it was so simple!

        Now I can modify keys for XBMC and my logitech harmony one!!
