Connecting UG802 to lan:is it possible?

Hi to all i'm new and i've just descovered the mini pc android world so, seen that i'm a technology maniac i've just bought an UG802 mini pc and i think it is great!
But i've got a problem: seen his poor wifi reception, i'd love to connect it to my netgear rooter by a lan cable. I've tried to do itfallowing instructions e seen on a youtoube video for an mk802.
My problem is that going into the android settings, into "More" menu (under the wifi switch) i'm not able to find the ethernet settings. I've got aother menu actually, completely different than the mk802's one.
Someone knows if it could be a problem of my minipc or if it is a common problem to all Ug802s?. Maybe it has a different/older firmware?

Another think: wich kind of usb hub is compatible with the ug802? the hub needs to be powered by a power supply or also the type without it works? I'm asking for it because i've got a 5 ports usb hub but it is without any power supply (it has only an usb cable) and it doesn't works...connecting a mouse to a port it works but as i connect another periferal the mouse stops to work and also the second periferal does not work at all.

    Sorry for my poor english!

    Thah you for listening!

To connect the UG802 to a LAN you need a LAN<->USB-Dongle, but i can't say which one to take.

If you want to connect more than one Device to the full sized USB-Port, you have to use a powered USB-Hub. It isn't possible to connect self powered Hubs to this Port. It may result in crashes of the System due to Voltage-Drops.

thank you for your reply...i've got a lan adaptor but my first problem is that i don't have the ethernet choise in the mini pc menu, on other ics devices (like my motorola razr) into the wirless and net menu i've got a choice called other end the ethernet choise into it...on my UG802 there is not...maybe i've got an old firmwire?

        Ethernet

try going to the regular android settings. it should be under 'WIRELESS AND NETWORKS" and it would say "Ethernet". if it's not showing choose "More..." and it should show up.

yes Krizz! that's exactly my problem: under the path you suggest there is not the ethernet choice...i'm starting to think that it's my own UG802's problem!

that is odd indeed, every rom i tried had the option. can you provide a screenshot of the options you have?

There's probably an app from the play store that could do that.
I just took the screenshot from my browser using the webkey app.

BTW make sure your device is rooted. i believe most, if not all the screen capture apps require it.

Re: Connecting UG802 to lan:is it possible?

                        I used a simple rd9700 and a simple NON-powered usb-hub. € 4 together. Lan Ethernet works out of the box on 1.0.4a
However the speed will be 2-3 times slower as Wifi (which works also and fine !!!).

Another non-powered-hub, delivered wit the ug802 (hanging-man-hub) will freeze my ug802. Power delivery/consumpton on the hub will be a factor. Quality of products (hardware hand software) seems another.

Using a powered usb-hub will avoid most problems i think.

...thank's a lot to all!...at the end i decided to "cut the head to the bull" how we use to say here in Italy and finally i've flashed the finless 1.4 founded here on the forum and magically the ethernet choise has appeared...i've not tried to connect the minipc via lan/usb adaptor actually but i'm happy to see that all has gone on the right way and to see that the finless is a great fw!

                          thnks again guys!
