Please help me with S802B spdif passthrough

    Sorry for my bad english.

I have a stb (smartv s802b). I've installed many roms from oman, finless, stane, etc but i don't have spdif output. I configure in the mbox settings and later in kodi but no luck. I connected the stb to my Logitech Z5500 but no sound.
Can anybody help me? i am desperado.

Try to configure like this 112k4 firmware, my link to sound test:

Beelink M8 was connected to Pioneer VSX-520 by SPDIF and can control sound standard in amplituner (it can swith amplituner to Dolby Digital or DTS)

Funny thing is on my M82 (1G/8G AP-6181 - MXIII), if I don't turn the Auto Detect off, it defaults to PCM mode, and I get absolutely NO SOUND outta my Creative DDTS-100 Pre-Amp Decoder. So the best thing to do is to turn this bit off, and then chose SPDIF Passthough... Or HDMI Passthough if that's appropriate. Also its worth pointing out that you should also have your Speakers Amp (Creative T7700), is also turned on, and the Volume is set.

Then the first thing you should hear is a click when you page though the Settings / Home Screen.
That on the face of it should be good enough for 90% of your Audio needs. For the last 10% you need to go into your version of XBMC, and in the advanced Options make sure you have SPDIF, and Dolby Digital Transcode options, as well as DTS (if its capable!) set.

I've flashed the 112k firmware but with you configuration ("Autodetection") always set to PCM. If i switch off the i change to SPDIF but no sound. I've try many firmwares but no sound, too I tried many optical cables but no sound. My receiver is a Logitech Z5500, have DD, DTS, etc.

Thanks for the help but no audio.

Again what about your actual Speakers al-la the Creative T7700. (The Ones I own), these too have their own Power Supply which must be active before they can make a sound. Also what about the Speaker Setup itself?
Let's assume for a Second that this was some heavy end AV Amp, for a Sec. Do you have that set to use the correct Input.
Heck even my cheapo DDTS-100 has Three Channels for Analog, as well as for Optical Digital (Tosslink). Obviously such Channel(s) have to line up as well.

Seems to me that you need to look more on how to setup your Logitech rig to me.

Perhaps a better question to pose is how does this work with say a XBOX or PS3? Sans that a DVD/Blue ray Player?
e.g. Is it really only limited to just the "Device"?

I have the logitech five years ago. It's works with blu-ray player, with my pc, my xbox360 and many others stuff (by example rockchip mk902 with the same tosslink cable works fine).
I think that is the firmware or the spdif output is broken (it's a new stb but who kowns).

            Thanks.

Unfortunately I can not test the spdf, but the firmware AM908A_rtl8188eu_dolby & dts_20141012.rar, M82_108k4_1gddr_rtl8188.img and AM908A_8188EU_ROOT_XBMC_20140804.rar compatible with this device.(I bought the same device from this seller in January)

Can you test hdmi passthrough then?
THere is many firmwares "compatibles", the only difference is the wifi. that you say are 100% compatibles with the wifi chipset. I have the problem that the otg connector is broken, the i only can update by sdcard.

                    Sorry for my bad english.

                    Thanks.

Yes. PCM and HDMI-passthrough modes work.
I used AM908A_8188EU_ROOT_XBMC_20140804 fmw (SD card)

nvm. my english is Google translator English.

Sounds to me like you got took... There really shouldn't be anymore rtl8188 flying 'round in the Market anymore, as they should have all been updated to use the AP-6181 WiFi. (i.e. The M82 1G/8G MXIII).
In which case its just as more likely to be a Hardware fault on the Device itself I'm afraid to say.

If as you say the Speakers are otherwise working fine... DVD/BlueRay, XBOX/PS3 etc...
Then it probably is the Device that's the Problem. Just outta interest can you notice if the Toslink Out is giving off any light at all? You may have to dim the lights a bit to see it. But, you should be able to note a redish light if you can gently push the Door open. If its completely dark. Then its likely a sign that the Port is dead, and so the ultimate reason why you can't get any sound out of it.

AFAIK: This Port should be lit at all times whether you happen to use it or not. I don't really think that its something that can be turned on, or off like that.

When you say "January" did you mean this Year, or last? At this point I'd stop forking 'round with it and, try to either get a replacement THAT WORKS! Or, my Money back from the Seller. Of course if its been likely over a Year now, and the RTL8188 would suggest this to be quite an older Model. Then I guess your are, as they say SOL now.

My board is exactly the same that the first photo only that mine has spdif output and the wifi is a different chip (rtl8188 vs ap6330). The number printed in the board are the sames.

                              Thanks.
