Further testing with Netflix on VOYO.
Using El Fuente 60 main 10.
Both Chrome and Firefox handle it to 1750 kbps=720 x 480.
Attempts to go higher will peek at 3000 kbps=1280 x 720.
Temperature will also peak close to 80C(aida64)then you get the usual
breakdown on video/sound, throttles back to 1750 and all in well.
Found that Firefox/Silverlight pushes the point and not keen on throttling down,
Chrome/Widevine hits 3000 and quickly drops back to 1750.
1750/740x480 is watchable, like most android boxes

Heatsinks and Pads on order, as mentioned in other threads and should help.
As this box has no room may end up looking like a porcupine by the time Its
    finished.
    Cheers

these box (voyo, pipo, also intel stick) are not well thought nor tested.
They knew cpu temp would go that high without a proper solution.
Hopefully new Minix will solve this problem.

Yes, comes with its own UPS, handy for DC type system.
No good if you lose power at home box stays on no monitor
Think it may also have something to do with standby
          Cheers

Found In my collection of bits and pieces a usb external DVD burner.
Plugged in and powered by VOYO, ran up Kodi and played a few Oldies.
Very nostalgic this thing called a dvd.

                Cheers
could you pls try it with an external USB3 disk with a normal usage, for example play a mkv movie with 10MBIT+ for like 20mins?

that 5V/2A doesn't look too good for that ^_^

5vdc~2amp supplied so its doing ok.
                  Also built in Microphone

Been running all day 17 hours streaming DI FM thru VLC
Installed CCleaner and adwcleaner to remove any junk.

It is what it is, till you push it, a few heat sinks will help as mentioned

Watched DVD Fifth Element via usb dvd burner plugged in 1 skipped frame in 2 hours
not much work for the box to do used Kodi 14.1 easy.

                  Cheers

                        Keeping it Cool

                        Laptop Cooler arrived $4.99 special.
Not the ideal shape/size for VOYO to be efficient.

Lid off and fan sitting above centre of PCB,
Using Kodi 14.1 streaming over wifi from WD DUO Nas.

Same Video used as tested in Post #10
1 hour in all cores running at a temperature of 60~62c (AIDA64)
CPU usage 29~32% utilisation (Windows task manager)
A few dropped frames but I feel the Wi-Fi is not 100% yet
May not have to go crazy with heat sinks.

                        Later in day
Could not Improve Netflix a great deal with the fan in Chrome or Firefox.
Temperature was +10c lower, wifi is not helping tried a few basic tweeks
under properties of the Broadcom adapter, its better but no full HD yet more testing.

Wanted to try the Netflix APP from Microsoft store not available.
Tried VNP and location change still not there.
                        Got it sorted, region thing.

                        Cheers

it's a real pity, since this voyo looks "sexy" for a mini box, but for these temperatures an actual cooling solution is needed, something out of the box.
However there are new intel boxes coming out, such as the Mele PCG03.
