MK808b Plus doenst update via Reset Button Method or Burning Tools

Hello guys,

I tried installing Finless 1.1 but it didnt work. Then i tried to install official 109k4 which also didnt work - When i plug-in the Device its not recognised by Burning Tools! Im now 5h trying and nothing is working.

When i try to boot with reset switch pressed it shows me google tv in a loop, screen goes black and shows again logo when i let go it boots up normal. Also no luck with the update tool within the apps from the device. Boots up 3 times with the Google Tv Logo and thats it boots up normal.


Any suggestions? Why is Burning Tools method not working - that makes me wonder...

The best way to do it is with a sd card its very easy then,Also did you read this on the first post of the finless rom
Note: If you are on 108K4 it has a messed up recovery thus you MUST use the recovery.img I provide in this ZIP package.

Im on 107k4 it came with it.

The sd card method via Update within the Apps did not work. I also tried with Reset Button pressed and sd-card with all files on it like written in the Readme.txt from Finless. It does show Google Tv screen goes blank shows Google Tv goes blank and so on. When i let go of the Reset Button it boots up normal with no update applied

I even tried the SD-Card in FAT32 insted of NTFS

anyway nothing to loose i will try with the "fixed" img but i dont think thats gonna help.

What files did you put on the sd card?


SD-Card in FAT32 is correct

according to Readme first:

factory_update_param.aml
mk808bp_finless10.zip
recovery.img

For update via Reset Button method

and:

mk808bp_finless10.zip
recovery.img

via Update App with files on SD-Card.

I noticed that every time i try there is a new "LOST.DIR" on the sd-card...hmmm

On the sd card you should have the recovery bob has provided & the update.zip

If your rooted download this & install it

use the above app to reboot to recovery (this way you do not need to use the recovery button)

The stick should boot into bob's recovery on the sd card, then you should select apply update from EXT navigate to update.zip on the sd card

One more thing you are putting the zip file thats inside the mk808b-plus-finless11rom.zip on the sd card & your not puttng the mk808b-plus-finless11rom.zip on there

On any stick on any rom i always use the reboot app to boot to recovery it far easer,& if you want to use the flash tool use the reboot apt to boot to bootloader (flash mode) simple


Also when you get bored of your new rom (finless1.1) & now you no how to flash it, this rom is worth trying its lolipop 5.0.2 & runs very nice http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...lus-WeTek-Gift

Can I use the recovery image from finless' 1.1 rom to upgrade from the stock 107k4 to the stock 109k4 rom? I have tried to boot into recovery with the app you mention using the stock recovery image, but it does not work.

Yes you should be able to use the recovery from finless 1.1..But why would you want to upgrade to 109k4 stock rom, finless 1.1 would be a better rom

Thanks for the reply blinkone. Eventually, I managed to upgrade to 109k4 stock rom from 107k4 rom via the sd card method and by using the recovery of the 107k4 rom. This was the only recovery that did the job. I mainly use the stick for xbmc/kodi. So, for the moment I will keep the stock rom and if I see any serious bugs or crashes I will then upgrade to finless 1.1.
