Hoping they will send me a 4.2. But they sent me a 4.4.2
I can't find anything or anywhere on how to root this. Would someone be able to point me to the right informtion.

I thought someone would have replied by now but I see that is not the case.

    Some help:

You should back up your current ROM to be sure you have that. Read up on that and be sure you can do it first. I recommend a tool posted by adbul_pt since it is so easy to use. Search for Dumping ROM Using ADB guide.

You should find out what type of wifi chip your device uses. Open it up and look for a chip near where the antenna is, and google the letters/numbers on it to be sure you got the right one.

Then, you can install a Custom ROM from a developer here or another site. Or you may find a Stock ROM that comes pre-rooted. Just make sure you use one tailored for your wifi/bt or you will will lose those and/or the stick will not boot.

Or you can find the 4.2 Jellybean ROM for your device and root it, using the RK3188 Simple Root/Unroot tool. That's what I did for the longest time on my MK809III because there just wasn't a ROM available.

Hope this points your in the right direction.

you could use kingroot as recommend by another poster in a thread... worked a treat for me on latest version of mk809iii with 4.4.2 pre flashed..
