Dual/triple USB storage issues?
Anyone tried to connect two or three usb hard drives? Yes, the scenario is not so common I guess, but I need a setup like this from time to time. Although the wall charger has 3A output, it seems it's not enough to power up my hard drives. I have two low-power 2.5" 5.4k hard drives, and everything is ok while one of them is spinned down (ie. on standby), but as soon the second one tries to spin-up again, then both of them are powering on and off over the next 15 seconds or so. I'm afraid of mechanicaly damaging them, or at least corrupting file systems on them. Each hard drive is connected to a different usb port, and it doesn't matter which usb ports are used. The situation is even worse if I connect one more usb stick. Even though it shouldn't use too much power, it completely mess up the usb storage mounting system, so I have to reboot the whole thing. So, am I the only one with this "not everyday scenario", or is there someone else experiencing this issue? Thanks all for reading.Tags: None

My usb hub with separate ac power power adapter finaly arrived. I rearranged my whole setup, but I still have issue with two of my usb hard drives. First and most important, the seller scammed me to say the least. He said the power adapter was 2A, but I received one with 1A. It would definitely be better if it was 2A, but now it is like it is. What bugs me is although only two devices are connected to the box, the same issue is happening. One hdd is connected to usb on the box, and the other one is on the usb hub connected to a different usb on the box. So they both should have plenty of juice to work without issue. Anyone?

You need 3A power adaptor to power 1 hard drive.
Nagrace & UGOOS devices both ship with real 3A power adaptors.
Some hard drives might work with 2A power, but not many.
