Hello,

The RK3066 is not really the best CPU to run FullHD.
Mostly it will not Work or been Slow.
For the WiFi Modul what exact is the failure?
Your WiFi Module have to fit to Kernel Version.

I have just returned to work. in the brief break lunch, at home I have made the following tests:

somewhere (lost link) in this forum found a working (???) 8192cu.ko module, renamed to r8192cu.ko
insmod r8192cu.ko and iwconfig, having this in this photo



now activating wifi android reboots, the wifi dongle is used with POWERED usb switch.

must I rename it in rkwifi.ko and reboot? is for a 720p kernel?

In this thread there are some dead links for 1080p kernels with 8192uc support

Firstly what Stick you use ?
Cause there is a difference in the Internal WiFi Module.
We have SIDO and USB Wifi Modules.
On that it depends on how to change it.
Also for change the WiFi Module like you make you have to rename the 8192cu.ko module to rkwifi.ko
That is the Module for your Internal Wifi Chip.
Then you may get a functional External Wifi what you can Control by System Settings.

is an old UG007, I used it many years ago with a 4.1 (?) Finless rom where a cool guy here did for me a realtek 8712u.ko driver (for android i have a lot of unsupported usb wifi dongles... too many... and obviously now it doesn't work with this new android version/kernel). I simply did a small script that at boot switchs off wifi, activates 8712u.ko and then switchs on wifi again. maybe with this rom I need to rename it to rkwifi.ko. thank you for help. ciao :-)

small tip for this rom, in vendor/preload (?, i am at work, I don't rememebr the right name), after first boot there are a lot of app ALREADY installed in this directory (?), deleting it we have about 100mb free space in system now to integrate gaps update or for other things ;-)

No way, this is a "different" rom... I can delete the whole " modules" directory and the rom still uses internal wifi every boot... Or loads modules in other directory at boot (with different names) or all is included in kernel...damn... Ciao

Tryng wiping cache and dalvik... Nothing

Install Terminal Emulator then do the following.

su
dmesg > /sdcard/before.txt

Enable WiFi in Settings then

su
dmesg > /sdcard/after.txt

it's hard... making other test from terminal (I am not linux "expert"...)...

I think without disabling at boot the internal wifi is quite hard use external usb wifi dongle
Is possible flash kernel.img from android? this stick is quite hard to put in "loader mode" with shortcut metod... thank you... ciao

im using a ug007 (MTK module i think) with shomri's 4.4 firmware ( the one on the sticky posts on this forum)

i currently use it to download torrents and as media player, but i wanted to use it as as retro microconsole.

i want to use bluetooth controllers with it, but while i seem to be able to connect them, the connection doesn't hold and just drops right after pairing.
i tried 8Bitdo FC30/NES30 and other similar controllers that work on my other android devices (mobile) but not on this one.

does your rom has compatibility for those devices?
can you add it?
can i copy the profiles/modules/drivers from other device to this one? where can i find that?

I have an ug007 too, bluetooth has the same problem of wifi, his range is about 0.000000001 cm... it's completely and totally useless. ciao

Had an old Imito MX2 lying in a drawer. Thought maybe I could use it for my second TV. Installed this ROM with 1080P core, set HDMI to 720P to reduce potential hiccups. Got 23000+ on Antutu. Stunned at how well it runs Kodi streamed HD vids with SpinzTV's premium build. WiFi is the only marginal area, but over all it is doing the job and only occasionally loses connection. Wifi does not work in 720P kernel so struck with the 1080p kernel. Overclocked kernels locked up in Antutu. Reducing CPU to 1500 gave a lousy score (~14000), so went back to original 1080P again. To get back to 23000 I had to reinstall the entire ROM as overwriting the kernel alone didn't get all the way back there. Although the MX2 and this ROM are old, they are working surprisingly well. THANKS to Avion, Shomari, and others who contributed to this ROM and thread and above all to Finless Bob for hosting and creating so many outstanding ROMs for all the Android TV boxes I have used over these years.
