Can't boot into recovery after flashing

I purchased (2) OTT TV Boxes marked EM8 (on bottom) M8 on top of box. I just flashed (1) with MBOX_112k4_sdcard.zip (in this thread). Box is working fine with exception of round remote doesn't work; no big deal cause I use wireless keybd/mouse combo. Curious thing after flashing, Box will not boot into recovery via toothpick method nor will it accept a factory data reset. Any ideas or advice. Thinking I may want to flash with custom ROM someday.

I always use the petrus reboot reboot app to boot into recovery if your rooted try it its much better than using a tooth pick https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...s.reboot&hl=en

Thanks for your quick reply. Tried the reboot tool you mentioned and a few others. Same results; box reboots normally, the google splash then the MBOX logo. Even tried booting into bootloader. Thinking I've lost access to recovery. Still have root access. Might try ROM Manger next.

Sounds like your recovery is messed up.I think you could put the recovery on a sd card & it would boot into recovery from the sd card

Not quite sure how to do that. I have the recovery.img file that was included with the MBOX_112k4_sdcard.zip package; bit i can't seem to boot from ext sd card.

Have you got the factory_update_param.aml on the sd card too.

put the factory_update_param.aml & the recovery.img on the sd card & it should boot into recovery from the sd card

Other than that maybe someone else can help more or you could download finless rom http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...EM8-Square-Box & try to flash that rom using the instructions in the package

I've installed finless Bob's 2.1 ROM on a couple of boxes with no issues. Since flashing with MBOX_112k4_sdcard.zip package I cannot get back in to recovery. Like I mentioned the box is running fine, it's just odd that I can't get back to recovery. Since this box has no OTG I'm running out of options.

I assumed you had a round box since your in this thread Beelink AML devices - S82/M8 (round), MXIII,

Thanks for moving to proper thread, although it's a bit confusing. It is a square box but the model reported in the settings is a M8 kitkat, build K0T49H and the box seems almost identical to the MXIII. I have another
M8 box with finless bob's 2.1 ROM. I did run across an Amlogic burning tool, going to give a go with that.

Success; Amlogic SD burning tool did the trick. Re-flashed with finless Bob's 2.1 ROM. All is good again except factory remote still not working, which is what led me on this quest to begin with. Thanks for your help blinkone; donation headed your way.
